In this discussion, historian John T. McGreevy (University of Notre Dame) and anthropologist Kevin Lewis O’Neill (University of Toronto) will draw on their respective bodies of work — focused largely on religion, law and politics with a particular focus on Catholicism — to explore the ways in which religious traditions can offer distinct models for civil discourse if also distinct challenges to it. Randy Boyagoda (English Department), the University of Toronto’s Provostial Advisor on Civil Discourse, will moderate.
The event is open to Trinity alumni, students, faculty, staff and members of the U of T community.
