  • The elevator in Trinity proper is now operational for normal service. All building elevators on the Trinity campus are back in service. Thank you for your patience.
  • Trinity’s telephone system is still experiencing technical issues, as noted in the notices below.

Building Elevators Update

  • Gerald Larkin Building, John W. Graham Library & Munk School and St. Hilda’s College building elevators are operational and have returned to normal service.
  • The elevator in Trinity College remains operable on an emergency basis or for community members with accessibility requirements. Please contact the Welcome Desk (416-978-2522 or trinity.welcome@utoronto.ca) and a member of the Security team will arrive to operate the elevator.

Trinity’s telephone system is still experiencing technical issues, as noted in the notices below.

Building Elevators Update

  • Gerald Larkin Building and John W. Graham Library & Munk School building elevators are operational and have returned to normal service.
  • The elevator in Trinity College remains operable on an emergency basis or for community members with accessibility requirements. Please contact the Welcome Desk (416-978-2522 or trinity.welcome@utoronto.ca) and a member of the Security team will arrive to operate the elevator.
  • The passenger elevator at St. Hilda’s College continues to be closed entirely at this time.

We will provide an update as soon as the remaining elevators are fully operational.

12:20 pm: Trinity’s Telephone System and Elevators

Trinity’s phone system is still experiencing technical issues.

  • For staff and faculty with Trinity office phones or for those wanting to reach colleagues: where possible please email colleagues or use Microsoft Teams (audio/video call).
  • For all others – if you need to reach one of the College’s offices/departments/programs or a staff/faculty member, please send them an email (view online Directory). If you are unsure who to email, please contact trinity.welcome@utoronto.ca and your message will be forwarded.
  • Trinity’s general phone number (416-978-2522), which is answered by the Welcome Desk (staffed 24/7), is operational. If there is an emergency situation on campus, please contact the Welcome Desk.

Some elevators on the Trinity campus were also impacted by the phone system outage. Due to safety regulations, these elevators will not be operational for normal use.

  • Trinity College and the John W. Graham Library & Munk School building elevators can be operated on an emergency basis or for community members with accessibility requirements. Please contact the Welcome Desk for assistance. For accessible access to the Graham Library, please use the ramp at the east entrance (along driveway beside Trinity proper) to enter the building.
  • At this time, the elevators in the Gerald Larkin Building and St. Hilda’s College are closed entirely. We will provide an update as soon as these elevators are operational.
  • If you are not able to access your CLASSROOM or office in Larkin or St. Hilda’s, please contact your INSTRUCTOR or manager/supervisor.

Community Notice: Friday, February 14, 2025

1:45 pm: Toronto Hydro power to the Trinity campus has been restored and building services are generally back to normal operation. Network services are still in the process of being restored, so you may experience connectivity issues with wired Internet connections and office phones (which are voice-over internet). We hope to have these services up and running soon. Thank you for your patience. And thank you to members of the Facilities & Infrastructure, Information & Technology Services, Security, Student Services, Residence, Welcome Desk, Ancillary Services and Food Services teams for getting services up and running, taking care of our community, and ensuring everyone’s safety.

8:15 am: A power outage effecting parts of downtown Toronto has resulted in a loss of power (this includes internet and phone-VoIP) on the Trinity campus. We are working to restore emergency power (emergency lighting and network – internet and phone).  Toronto Hydro estimates restoration of power to the area later this morning. We’ll provide an update here once power has been restored. Thank you for your patience.
