Dear Members of the Trinity College Community:
This U of T Giving Day (March 25, 2025), you have the chance to be part of something much bigger — to help create a vibrant, supportive community at Trinity College!
As a former academic don and proud champion of Trinity College, I’m thrilled to help kick off this year’s campaign, themed “Progress takes a community.” This day is about the incredible impact we can make together, as part of a shared mission.
Since U of T Giving Day began in 2023, over 2,500 members of the University of Toronto community have come together to support initiatives aimed at making a U of T education more accessible. Thanks to the generosity of folks like you, U of T has been able to support new scholarships, fund groundbreaking research and change the lives of their students.
From now until midnight EDT on March 26, 2025, every dollar you donate to Trinity’s featured funds will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000, while matching funds last. That means your gift today will have twice the impact in supporting the next generation of changemakers.
This isn’t just about doubling your impact — it’s about fueling the dreams of courageous leaders like Trinity alum Dr. Alexander Augusta. The first Black medical student in eastern Canada and an early champion of equal rights, Dr. Augusta’s story is an incredible example of Trinity’s long-standing commitment to nurturing future leaders.
Through my efforts to ensure Dr. Augusta’s life and legacy are celebrated in the halls of Trinity College, including through a portrait now hanging proudly in Seeley Hall, I have seen firsthand how our community thrives through collaboration, connection and a shared commitment to progress.
In our community, every act of generosity strengthens the foundation for a more inclusive and inspiring future.
Will you join us in making a lasting impact?
Together, we can ignite inclusive excellence — one Trinity College student at a time.
With gratitude,
Dr. Nav Persaud MD 2009
