All applicants who select Trinity College as their first preference of college in the Faculty of Arts and Science are required to complete the Trinity College Applicant Profile. The Profile enables us to learn more about applicants beyond their grades, and factors in our college admission and scholarship decisions.
Applicants who select Trinity as their first preference of college but who do not complete the Profile will not be considered for membership in Trinity College, but will be considered for membership in their alternate choices of college.
Deadline for submitting the Trinity College Applicant Profile: February 3rd, 2025. Applicants will be able to access and complete their Profile via the Join U of T site, after their application is received by the University.
That’s a great question! The Trinity College Applicant Profile is a chance for us to get to know applicants beyond your grades – how you connect with the world around you, and the strengths you will bring to the Trinity community. There is no one ‘correct’ way to answer the profile questions. The answers to these questions can come from all facets of your life, including school, work, hobbies/pastimes, volunteering, family commitments, etc. Where possible, try to use different examples for each question. Also, while writing and grammar are important, please be reassured that these are not the focus of our assessment. We have your grades – tell us more about yourself. This should be a straightforward exercise that shouldn’t take too long. Don’t overthink it. Simply be yourself and help us get to know you better!

Your college provides a smaller home within the larger University of Toronto. While all colleges provide similar student services and activities, each has its own personality. Your college serves as a support system where you can readily access academic, personal and financial advising. Your college will also likely be the major focus of your social life through clubs, social events and other community and student-run activities. You may even live at your college as a residence student. Think of your college as your home base within the University of Toronto and likely where you’ll meet some of your best friends.
Although Trinity’s admission averages tend to be higher than the Faculty of Arts & Science’s, we do not have set “cut-off” marks. In addition to your overall academic record, we also take into account your Trinity College Applicant Profile.
Yes, because more students request a place at Trinity than we can accept. If, for example, 1,000 students request Trinity as their first choice, and we only have 400 spots for first-year students, we will choose our 400 out of that 1,000 and will not be able to consider students who have listed Trinity as a second choice.
Your college membership will be included in your offer of admission to the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Your college affiliation places no restriction on what you can study. Whichever college you choose, you will have access to all courses and programs in the Faculty of Arts & Science – there are hundreds of options! And you can enroll in one of Trinity’s academic programs, regardless of college affiliation.
